Christmas Ideas For Your DIY Conservatory
02 December 2010If you have ordered your new DIY conservatory in time for Christmas, you will have lots of additional space which can be utilised specially for the festive season. As well as providing extra space, a conservatory allows lots of natural light in, which will be noticeable even on these short wintery days, allowing you to enjoy part of Christmas day in the light. Here we offer some simple tips to give your conservatory that Christmas feel.
Keep decorations simple and natural so that they compliment your conservatory rather than overpower it. Use natural or coloured fairy lights, but keep the lighting subtle. Wooden garland decorations are perfect to hang from the windows and if you are feeling creative and want to continue with your DIY, you can even make the perfect window garland decoration using pine cones and sparkly beads. As well as having the room for a Christmas tree and all the presents, your conservatory provides a great setting for you to enjoy your Christmas dinner, where you can dress your table with clusters of candles, pine cones, holly, ivy and berries.
Conservatories really can provide a great place to enjoy Christmas. According to the Essex Echo, December 2009, a 62 year old lady from Essex even turned her conservatory into a Grotto, complete with Father Christmas. The grotto attracted local school children and was free to visit, but any donations were greatly received on behalf of a local school for children with special needs.
